Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Java Software Engineer who will also serve as Scrum Master. The role is hybrid, split 50/50 between hands-on development and Agile facilitation. You will design, develop, test, and maintain production cloud-native Java microservices while guiding an Agile team to deliver sprint goals.

Preferred candidates have 3+ years of Java experience, SAFe Scrum Master exposure, and strong frontend, REST, and Spring ecosystem skills. U.S. citizenship required; SF-85P suitability may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years of experience or a Master's with 2+ years.
• 3+ years designing, developing, testing, and reviewing Java applications.
• 1+ years as Scrum Master on a SAFe Agile team in a large-scale environment.
• Significant Web development experience with React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Proficient with JUnit and Mockito for unit testing.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, XSD.
• Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Security, Spring Boot.
• Experience with Linux, Git, Subversion, Eclipse, VS Code.

Responsibilities

• Approximately 50% hands-on software engineering: design, develop, test, review, and maintain cloud-native Java microservices.
• Approximately 50% Scrum Master responsibilities: facilitate ceremonies and remove impediments.
• Leverage DevSecOps, CI/CD, and secure coding practices to accelerate delivery.
• Coordinate with Release Train Engineer and stakeholders on status and risks.
• Support deployment, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution.
