Job summary

CVS Health in North Carolina seeks a Manager, Cloud & Data Platform Engineer to own the Retail Resource Center's Google Cloud-based data and application stack, ensuring reliable releases, security, data quality, and scalable analytics.

You will design CI/CD pipelines, manage GKE clusters and BigQuery datasets, and implement data governance, AI-assisted automation, and incident response in a fast-paced retail tech environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, site reliability, cloud, platform, or data engineering with Google Cloud Platform and production data pipelines.
• Working knowledge of Google Cloud services including Cloud Run, GKE, Redis, BigQuery, and IAM.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; ability to leverage AI tools for automation.
• Experience designing and operating data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and decision making skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Owns the application and data technology stack in Google Cloud, including Cloud Run, GKE, Redis, BigQuery and related services.
• Designs and maintains CI/CD pipelines (Cloud Build, GitHub Actions) for application and data workloads.
• Oversees containerization, configuration management, and image lifecycle practices.
• Builds and maintains batch and streaming data pipelines producing datasets in BigQuery.
• Develops analytics data layer in BigQuery with SQL transformations for reporting.
• Implements data quality checks, governance, lineage, and observability; monitors data freshness.
• Partners with analysts and stakeholders to translate reporting needs into reliable datasets and dashboards.
• Defines infrastructure as code and automates provisioning and operations across dev/staging/production.
• Implements monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, and incident response; leads runbooks and on-call processes.
• Manages IAM roles, secrets, and security controls; collaborates on audits and remediation.
• Plans capacity, autoscaling, backups, and disaster recovery for data stores.
