Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Manager, Cloud & Data Platform Engineer to own the Retail Resource Center's Google Cloud stack, oversee deployment, data pipelines, and analytics workloads. You will ensure reliability, security, and scalable data models across Cloud Run, GKE, Redis, and BigQuery.

You will design CI/CD pipelines, manage IAM and security controls, implement observability, and partner with analysts and product owners to deliver trusted data and dashboards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in DevOps, SRE, cloud, platform, or data engineering with hands-on GCP experience.
• Working knowledge of Google Cloud services including Cloud Run, GKE, Redis, BigQuery and IAM.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to support development and automation.
• Experience designing and operating data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Owns the application and data technology stack in Google Cloud, including architecture, availability, performance, and lifecycle management of Cloud Run services, GKE clusters, Redis, and BigQuery datasets.
• Designs, builds, and maintains CI/CD pipelines for application and data workloads, including pipeline code, DAGs, and SQL transformations.
• Oversees containerization and deployment practices, including configuration management.
• Designs and maintains batch and streaming data pipelines that ingest data into BigQuery.
• Develops and manages the analytics data layer in BigQuery for reporting and analysis.
• Implements data quality checks, schema management, lineage, and pipeline observability.
• Applies data governance and security controls, including access management and retention policies.
• Partners with analysts and product owners to translate reporting needs into datasets and dashboards.
• Defines and manages infrastructure as code with version-controlled changes.
• Implements monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting for platforms and data pipelines.
• Leads incident response and post-incident reviews; participates in on-call rotations.
• Manages IAM roles, service accounts, network configs, secrets, and vulnerability scanning.
• Plans for capacity, autoscaling, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Collaborates with engineering, security, and operations teams to solve technical challenges.
• Leverages AI to accelerate development and automation across stack.
• Develops AI agents to automate workflows.
• Evaluates new Google Cloud services and informs roadmap.
• Pursues professional development and certifications.
