Job summary

CVS Health is hiring a Manager, Cloud & Data Platform Engineer to own the Retail Resource Center’s Google Cloud stack, including Cloud Run, GKE, Redis, and BigQuery. You will lead CI/CD design, deployment, data pipelines, and analytics data layer development while enforcing data governance and security policies.

You will collaborate with analysts and product stakeholders to deliver reliable datasets, dashboards, and AI-driven automation to accelerate delivery and reliability across environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, site reliability, cloud, platform, or data engineering.
• Hands-on production experience with Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, GKE, Redis, BigQuery).
• Working knowledge of Google Cloud services, including IAM.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python) and strong SQL skills.
• Experience designing and operating data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows, including orchestration, data modeling, and data quality practices.
• Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and decision making skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Owns the application and data technology stack in Google Cloud, including architecture, availability, performance, and lifecycle management of Cloud Run services, GKE clusters, Redis databases, BigQuery datasets, and supporting services.
• Designs, builds, and maintains CI/CD pipelines for application and data workloads.
• Oversees containerization and deployment practices, including configuration management and container image lifecycle management.
• Builds and maintains batch and streaming data pipelines that ingest data into BigQuery.
• Develops analytics data layer in BigQuery with dataset design and SQL transformations.
• Implements data quality checks, schema management, lineage, and pipeline observability.
• Defines and monitors data freshness and reliability targets; troubleshoots failed loads.
• Applies data governance and security controls, including access and retention policies.
• Collaborates with analysts and stakeholders to translate reporting needs into datasets and dashboards.
• Defines infrastructure as code with version control and peer review; automates provisioning and environments.
