Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Sparks, NV is seeking a Data Center Technician to maintain hardware and network infrastructure across AWS data centers.

You will perform server rack installations, diagnose hardware and network issues, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure high availability of AWS services. The role requires 2+ years in hardware troubleshooting and networking, a willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays, and travel between data centers

Qualifications

2+ years of computer/server hardware troubleshooting experience or equivalent IT experience.
2+ years of computer layer 1/2 networking experience (troubleshooting and repair).
Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, responding to incidents affecting service availability, and repairing server hardware, network gear, and OS to maintain AWS service availability.
Serving as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders (engineers, vendors, contractors).
On-call duties and participation in scheduled maintenance and change management.
Contributing to documentation and process improvements based on issue analyses.
Assisting in interviewing, training, and onboarding new team members.
