Job summary

AWS is seeking a Data Center Technician to support a 24/7 data center environment in California. You will install equipment, perform hardware break-fix, troubleshoot networks, and respond to incidents to maintain service availability. You will travel within and outside the region as required.

Join a diverse team of engineers and operations staff, contributing to documentation, process improvements, and training new technicians. Working shifts may include nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent diploma.
• 1+ years of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience.
• Knowledge of network design, protocols and Layer 1/2 troubleshooting.
• Associate's degree in a relevant field, or experience in a relevant field.
• Experience in a data center or other critical environment.
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.

Responsibilities

• Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix, troubleshooting network issues, and responding to incidents, escalating to senior technicians as needed.
• Serving as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders.
• Performing on-call duties and participating in scheduled maintenance and change management.
• Contributing to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on issues analyzed.
• Helping to train and onboard new team members.
