Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technician to support our customers in a high-demand cloud infrastructure environment at Chantilly, VA. The role requires hardware and networking expertise, plus on-call responsibilities to maintain 24/7 data center availability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
• 1+ years of computer networking experience.
• High school or equivalent diploma.
• 1+ years of operations and on-call support for data center facilities, mission critical plants, or production facilities, or 4+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
• 3+ years of technical troubleshooting or similar experience.
• 1+ years of operations and on-call support for data center facilities, mission critical plants, or production facilities, or 1+ years of relevant discipline work experience.

Responsibilities

• Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, and responding to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as needed/required
• Serving as a primary contact point for both internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors
• Performing on-call duties and participating in scheduled maintenance and change management activities
• Contributing to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on your analysis of operational issues
• Helping to train and onboard new team members
