Job summary

Amazon in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Data Center Technician to support 24/7 data center operations. You will perform server rack installations, diagnose hardware and network issues, and carry out on‑call duties to maintain service availability.

You will act as a primary contact for engineers, vendors, and contractors and help onboard new team members. The role involves physical work in data centers, travel between sites as needed, and lifting up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of computer networking experience.
• 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, troubleshoot network issues, respond to incidents impacting service availability, and perform routine repairs to contribute to overall AWS service availability.
• Serve as primary contact for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
• Participate in on‑call duties and scheduled maintenance/change management activities.
• Contribute to documentation and process improvements based on analysis of operational issues.
• Help interview, train and onboard new team members.
