Job summary

Amazon in the United States is seeking an experienced Data Center Operations Manager to lead a team responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. You will mentor staff, sponsor projects, and propose technical solutions while managing on-call rotations and hardware diagnostics.

You will collaborate with software, hardware, and network engineers to maintain uptime across multiple sites and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of IT experience or Bachelor’s degree in CS/engineering/math or equivalent.
• 2+ years of people management experience.
• 2+ years of operations and on-call support for data centers or production facilities.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians.
• Lead diverse teams across multiple locations.
• Develop career paths and update internal tools.
• Recruit and train data technicians to ensure staffing levels.
• Ensure 7/24 shift coverage and hardware logistics.
• Manage large-scale outages and act as call leader.
