Job summary

BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking a Closing Manager to lead the club's evening operations, oversee Recovery, Utility, and Perishables, and ensure top-tier member service as the day ends. The role emphasizes safety, training, and cross-functional leadership across departments.

The Closing Manager will drive performance, attend to audits, and manage a team including the Assistant Closing Manager and support staff, ensuring GOLD standards and exceptional member experiences.

Qualifications

• ServSafe Food Safety Certification required and must be maintained in good standing.
• In Florida, qualifier certification through the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for retail propane oversight is required.
• Must complete yearly forklift license certification.

Responsibilities

• Own end-of-day execution for Recovery, Utility, Perishables, and Overnight prep to ensure readiness for morning open.
• Lead by presence on the floor during closing hours to observe and engage with Members and team performance.
• Maintain GOLD Standards and ensure a premier member experience from opening to close.
• Ensure departments are fully staffed, inventories rotated, and service areas are operational through final Member transactions.
• Coach onboarding and certifications; reinforce ServSafe, PPE, and department training for team members.
