Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking an Assistant Closing Manager to lead club operations during closing hours, oversee Recovery, Utility, and Perishable departments, and ensure safety and food-handling standards are met.

The role requires ServSafe certification, high school diploma, and retail leadership experience; it includes responsibilities for training, audit readiness, and maintaining GOLD standards to deliver a premium member experience.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in retail, supermarket, or warehouse perishable operations preferred.
• Experience in managing inventory turnover and waste reduction strategies.
• SERV Safe certification required.

Responsibilities

• Own end-of-day operations and ensure clubs meet closing standards.
• Lead Recovery, Utility, and Perishable departments to maintain cleanliness and stock.
• Coach onboarding and certifications; ensure safety and training compliance.
• Monitor and improve member experience and service levels during closing.
• Collaborate with Club Managers and Department Leads to optimize closing routines.
