Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Closing Manager to lead evening operations and multiple departments, ensuring safe, efficient club performance. You will manage the Recovery, Utility, and Perishables teams, uphold GOLD standards, and drive adherence to food safety and training requirements.

Ideal candidates will have forklift certification, 18+ age, and 2 years in retail or warehouse perishable operations.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in retail, supermarket, or warehouse perishable operations required.
• Experience in managing inventory turnover and waste reduction strategies.
• Forklift Certification required.
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Email) required.
• Open shift availability required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must maintain all training and required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Own end-of-day execution: oversee Recovery, Utility, Perishables, and overnight prep to ensure readiness for morning open.
• Lead by presence: coach and manage Closing Manager, Recovery and Utility teams.
• Maintain GOLD standards and safety training; ensure club readiness for daily operations.
• Support audit readiness and cross-functional partnerships for compliance and training.
• Coach onboarding, certifications, and department leadership; ensure ServSafe and safety standards.
• Drive in-stock and freshness; monitor product rotation and merchandising accuracy.
• Collaborate with ACMs and Club Manager to improve closing routines and member experience.
