Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers with real-time clinical documentation across patient visits. The role emphasizes accurate coding (CPT/ICD-10), note delivery, and collaboration with the care team in a fast-paced clinic setting.

The position is full-time, with typical hours around 40 per week, and a pay range of $17.00–$28.46 per hour plus CVS Health benefits. This is a hands-on clinical role requiring in-person clinic attendance and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Advanced listening and communication skills.
• Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new technical workflows.
• Fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other languages spoken by people in the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

• Documenting Patient Encounters ~ 80%. Joining the provider in the exam room to observe patient visits, documenting encounters in a structured note, assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes, preparing After Visit Summaries, and coordinating with the provider for accurate documentation.
• Clinical Documentation Improvement ~ 10%. Requesting and reviewing medical records, leveraging population health tools to support documentation improvement, and supporting daily huddles and reviews.
• Administrative support for your provider and care team ~ 10%. Placing orders and referrals, addressing tasks, and supporting the care team with documentation-related responsibilities.
• Other duties as assigned
