Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers with real-time clinical documentation and coding. You will join providers in exam rooms, document history and exams, and help prepare post-visit summaries while ensuring HIPAA compliance and accurate coding.

Ideal candidates have strong listening and communication skills, are computer-literate, and may be multilingual to support diverse patient populations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications is required.
• Clinical experience including shadowing/volunteering is preferred.
• Scribe or transcription experience is optional but beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in real time during visits.
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes and prepare after-visit summaries.
• Support clinical documentation improvement efforts with the provider.
• Perform administrative tasks like placing orders and referrals.
