Job summary

Visionworks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to support patients through onsite and remote eye exams. You will prepare patients, run pre-exam tests, document results in the EMR, and explain steps in the process.

This role requires strong customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with Optometrists and retail staff. Travel to other locations may be required.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience

Responsibilities

• Assist onsite doctor with patient care and eye examinations.
• Explain preliminary testing processes to patients and document results in EMR.
• Support remote eye exams including pre-testing and video conferencing.
• Coordinate referrals and transition patients to retail staff with doctor recommendations.
• Maintain accurate patient records according to company standards.
• Preauthorize insurance and manage appointments and exam books.
