Qualifications

• One year of related experience in optical or healthcare settings.
• HS diploma or GED or equivalent; training provided.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; HIPAA knowledge and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for onsite or remote exams and perform pre-exam diagnostic tests.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye exams and document results in EMR.
• Explain remote eye exam process and document results; initiate remote conferencing.
• Transition patient to retail staff with doctor recommendations.
• Assist with insurance preauthorization and appointment scheduling.
• Maintain patient records and educate patients on contact lens care.
