Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: BS in Medical Technology or related science with experience; OR AS in Med Lab Tech with extensive experience.
• Eligible for certification in Medical Technology or subspecialty certification (ASCP) preferred but not required.
• Experience: new graduates accepted depending on education level.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing (waived, moderate, highly complex) on blood and specimens and report results.
• Calibrate, perform performance checks, and maintain instruments and equipment; troubleshoot basic malfunctions.
• Prepare reagents/media per procedures or literature.
• Conduct quality control and document results; implement corrective actions as needed.
• Orient and supervise students/new staff to explain scientific principles as needed.
