Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Baltimore is seeking a clinical laboratory professional to perform diagnostic testing on blood and other specimens under general supervision. You will ensure accuracy and report results for diagnosis and treatment.

Requirements include a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or equivalent, relevant experience, and ability to operate and maintain standard laboratory instruments. Certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or related science with lab experience.
• BS in a science plus two years related lab experience.
• Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with four years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing on blood and other specimens.
• Calibrate and maintain instruments; troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Prepare reagents and media per procedures.
• Conduct quality control and document results.
• Orient and supervise students and new lab staff as needed.
• Support quality improvement and participate in team projects.
• Participate in continuing education and share knowledge from seminars/workshops.
