Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor or equivalent degree in medical laboratory science or related field.
• Two years of additional clinical lab experience if BS in applicable science.
• AS degree with four years related clinical lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic (waived, moderate, and highly complex) testing on blood and other specimens.
• Calibrate, perform checks, and maintain clinical lab instruments and equipment.
• Prepare reagents/media per procedures or literature.
• Conduct and document QA procedures; evaluate QC results and implement corrective actions.
• Orient and supervise students and new staff on scientific principles as needed.
• Monitor quality improvement indicators and participate in data gathering.
• Develop new programs and monitor effectiveness in a team setting.
• Participate in continuing education and share knowledge with the team.
