Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Medical Assistant to support the care team within a clinical practice under provider supervision. You will help coordinate patient care, prepare exam rooms, and document vitals and history in the EHR.

You will assist with medication administration, screenings, and may act as a scribe with training. This role may involve floating between AHN locations and requires HIPAA compliance and clearances.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Certification required within 120 days of hire if not already certified.
• Preferred Associate's Degree and CPR certification.
• Background clearances required per policy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients per standardized workflows.
• Record vital signs, patient history, tobacco and medication screening.
• Assist with medications administration and document in the EHR.
• May serve as a scribe with additional training.
• May float between physician office locations.

Education

High School / GED or Medical Assistant Program

Associate's Degree (Preferred)

Medical Assistant Certification (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA)

CPR – American Heart Association

Background Clearances (Act 34/33/73 FBI)
