Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers in coordinating examination, treatment and care planning within a team-based clinical setting. You will prepare and room patients, obtain vital signs, document in the EHR and assist with exams and procedures.

This role requires completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent, with certification within 120 days of hire; an Associate’s degree is preferred. Some travel between AHN locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Certification training within 30 days of hire and certification within 120 days if requirements met.
• Accepted Medical Assistant Certification (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA).

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepares and rooms patients, obtains vital signs, documents patient information and screening.
• Assists with examinations and procedures.
• May serve as a scribe with training.
• Performs lab controls and maintains instrument sterilization.
• Documents in the EHR per established workflows.
