Qualifications

• High School / GED.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program OR 1 year of Medical Assistant OR 1 year in a direct patient care role, including vital signs.
• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision using a team-based approach.
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vitals; document history, tobacco, and medication screening.
• Review and update medications in the EHR; screen for age-appropriate screenings and orders.
• Perform back office testing following AHN protocols.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
• May serve as a scribe after training.
• Provide follow-up with patients via phone, electronic or written methods per provider instructions.
• Maintain exam rooms and inventory; stock supplies.
• Sterilize instruments and perform lab controls.
• Document accurately in the EHR; perform clerical duties.
• May float between physician office locations.
