Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support a clinical practice under the direction of a provider. You will coordinate patient care, prepare and room patients, obtain vital signs and medical history, and assist with exams and procedures.

You may perform back office testing, serve as a scribe with training, and follow up with patients using their preferred communication method. Adherence to HIPAA and company policies is required.

Qualifications

• High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Certification training within 30 days of hire and certification within 120 days of hire.
• Associate's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in coordination of patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepares and rooms patients; records vital signs, patient history, and medication screening.
• Performs back office testing and assists with examinations and procedures.
• May serve as a scribe with training; follow up with patients per provider instructions.
• Maintains exam rooms and inventory; ensures supplies are stocked.
