Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care alongside providers in a clinical setting. You will assist with examinations, room patients, and document vital signs and history in the EHR.

The role includes reviewing medication lists, coordinating screenings, and performing back-office testing in alignment with AHN protocols and workflows. Travel between locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School/GED or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Certification training must be completed within 30 days and certification obtained within 120 days of hire.
• Preference for an Associate's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision using a team-based approach.
• Prepare and room patients; accurately obtain vital signs and document history, tobacco use, and medications.
• Review and update medication lists in the EHR; screen for age-appropriate screenings.
• Assist with back-office testing and with examinations and procedures.
• May serve as a scribe and follow up with patients per provider instructions.
• Prepare exam rooms, maintain supplies, and ensure cleanliness per policy.
• Document in the EHR and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• May travel between physician office locations.
