Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a team-based clinical setting. You will prepare patients, record vital signs, document medical history and screenings, and assist with procedures under provider supervision.

Responsibilities include maintaining rooms and supplies, documenting in the EHR, and possibly serving as a scribe with training. Occasional travel between AHN locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High School or GED or completion of a Medical Assistant program is required.
• Certification within 120 days of hire if applicable; accepted certifications include NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA.
• Preferred: Associate's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the health care provider using a team-based approach.
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vital signs, document patient information and history, tobacco and medication screening; assist with screenings as needed.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures; may serve as a scribe with training.
• Document in the EHR accurately; maintain exam rooms and inventory; follow AHN protocols and policies.
• May float between physician office locations as needed.
