Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care within a team-based clinical setting. You will prepare patients, record vital signs, document in the EHR, and assist providers with examinations and procedures.

Floating between locations may be required. The role requires a Medical Assistant program completion or equivalent, and certification within 120 days of hire, with CPR and background clearances as part of the requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Certification requirements: must complete certification within 120 days of hire.
• Accepted Medical Assistant Certification (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA).
• Preferred Associate's Degree.
• Additional Employment Requirements: CPR — American Heart Association and various background clearances.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients per standardized workflows.
• Accurately obtain patient vitals and document information.
• Assist with administration of screenings and annual wellness visits.
• Review and update medication lists in the EHR.
• Assist with examinations and procedures as needed.
