Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care within our clinical teams. You will prepare patients, take vital signs, document in the EHR, and assist providers with examinations and procedures.

The role may involve scribing and traveling between office locations as needed. Qualifications include completion of a Medical Assistant program, potential certification within 120 days, and CPR/background clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Certification within 120 days of hire; candidates must obtain certification within 120 days.
• Preferred Associate's Degree.
• CRP/Background checks and clearances as required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the provider.
• Prepare and room patients per standardized workflows.
• Accurately obtain vitals and document patient information and history.
• Screen tobacco use and medications; assist with screenings.
• Assist with exams and procedures; may act as a scribe.
• Document in the EHR and manage clerical tasks; possibly float between locations.
