Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under provider supervision. You will room patients, record vitals, assist with exams and back-office testing, and help coordinate care using AHN protocols.

The position requires a Medical Assistant program completion or equivalent, with certification within 120 days if not already certified. A 1-year commitment is expected; a $1,000 sign-on bonus applies to external hires.

Qualifications

• High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant program required.
• Certification required within 120 days if not already certified.
• Preferred: Associate's Degree in healthcare related field.

Responsibilities

• Assists in coordinating examination, treatment and health care planning for patients.
• Prepares and rooms patients, records vital signs and patient history.
• Performs back office testing and assists providers with examinations and procedures.
• Supports follow up communications and notifies patients of test results.
• Maintains room readiness and inventory; ensures proper sterilization and safety policies.
