Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh is seeking a Medical Assistant to support care delivery in a team-based clinical setting. Under supervision, you will prepare patients, record vitals, and assist with examinations and procedures.

You will maintain accurate documentation in the EHR, review medication lists, and ensure supplies are stocked. A Medical Assistant program completion or equivalent and active certification within 120 days are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Certification within 120 days of hire; eligible certification options listed.
• Preferred Associate's Degree.
• CPR certification required; background checks and HIPAA compliance per policy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepares and rooms patients within the clinical practice setting according to workflows.
• Obtains vital signs and documents patient information and medical history.
• May assist in depression screening tools when applicable.
• Performs back office testing following AHN protocols.
• Administers and documents medications per policy.
• Documents accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
• May float between physician office locations.
