Job summary

University of Washington in Seattle seeks a Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) 1 to join the Phlebotomy & Specimen Processing Services Team at UW Medical Center - Montlake. You will process specimens, draw blood, and deliver exceptional customer service while supporting accreditation standards.

As a CLT 1, you will orient new staff, participate in quality improvement, and ensure timely and accurate test results.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent with one year of laboratory experience.
• Completion of an ASCP-approved Laboratory Assistant course.
• MA-P certification must be obtained within 180 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen processing tasks including accessioning, sorting, aliquoting and reviewing lab orders.
• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection for inpatients and outpatients.
• Provide courteous patient and staff service and educate patients on collection procedures.
• Orient and train new employees and support performance improvement efforts.
• Resolve specimen and order-related problems with documentation for supervision.
