Job summary

UW Medicine in Seattle, WA is hiring Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) 1 positions within the Phlebotomy and Specimen Processing Services (PSPS) team at Montlake. Openings include day, evening, and night shifts; full-time and part-time possibilities.

As a CLT 1, you will process specimens, draw blood, and deliver patient care while providing excellent service to patients and hospital staff. The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and adherence to laboratory standards; a supportive environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year lab experience, or ASCP-approved lab assistant course.
• MA-P certification within 180 days or WA Department of Health equivalent.
• Equivalents acceptable; legal requirements may apply for license.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen processing tasks including receiving, sorting, and centrifuging specimens.
• Perform venipuncture and other phlebotomy duties on patients.
• Provide courteous customer service to patients and staff.
• Orient and train new employees; participate in performance improvement efforts.
• Support compliance with JCAHO, CLIA, and CAP accreditation standards.
