Job summary

UW Medicine’s Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology in Seattle, WA invites applicants for a one-year Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) 1 role with the Phlebotomy & Specimen Processing Services (PSPS) team at Harborview Medical Center. The position offers night shifts, 100% FTE, and a focus on specimen processing, phlebotomy, and patient care.

We seek candidates with a High School diploma or equivalent, and at least one year of lab experience, or completion of an approved laboratory

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year of lab experience, or equivalent.
• ASCP-approved Laboratory Assistant course completes qualification.
• WA MA-P certification required or obtainable within 180 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection for inpatients and outpatients.
• Process specimens including receiving, sorting, centrifuging, aliquoting, and matching with requisitions.
• Enter results and manage reference lab workflow in a timely, accurate manner.
• Provide courteous customer service to patients and staff.
