Qualifications

• Six months of general experience.
• Six months of specialized experience in medical laboratory support.
• One year of study in chemistry/biological sciences plus a full-time medical or clinical laboratory assistant/technician training program.
• Two years of study with at least twelve semester hours in chemistry/biological sciences related to the position.
• A combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing across chemistry, hematology, microbiology, urinalysis, immunology, serology and blood banking.
• Evaluate test results and troubleshoot to ensure accuracy.
• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Collect and process patient specimens, assess acceptability and accession in LIS.
• Validate and document results, communicate with healthcare providers, and support quality assurance and safety requirements.
