Job summary

Oak Street Health seeks a Clinical Informatics Specialist (Medical Scribe) to support primary care providers by documenting patient encounters in real time and coding appropriately. The role emphasizes accurate documentation within a value-based care model and collaboration with the care team in a clinic setting.

Ideal candidates have strong medical terminology knowledge, clinical exposure, and the ability to learn new workflows, with a commitment of at least 1 year and full-time hours in clinic

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications (pre-med or clinical experience).
• Prior clinical experience, including shadowing/volunteering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Documenting patient encounters in a structured note with HPI, assessment, plan and exam.
• Assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes and preparing after-visit summaries.
• Administrative support for the care team (orders, referrals, tasks).
• Collaborate with providers to ensure accurate documentation and participate in daily huddles.
