Job summary

Providence is seeking a Clinical Informatics Lab Specialist to independently support laboratory components of the EHR, CDS, and LIS. The role collaborates with informatics teams to design efficient workflows, analyzes data for leadership decision making, and implements changes aligned with patient safety and regulatory goals.

We value strong communication with clinicians, executives, and vendors, plus the ability to travel regionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a clinical discipline or IT/informatics/related field or equivalent education/experience.
• 2 years in a role with a clinical information system in a healthcare setting.
• Experience with EHR systems.
• Experience with the benefits and challenges of adult learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and application expertise to improve laboratory information systems and workflows.
• Respond to improvement needs in the functional operation of laboratory computer systems.
• Collaborate and document system design and workflow processes for clinical and laboratory management.
• Serve as liaison between laboratory stakeholders and system build teams.
• Design, analyze, and optimize clinical and laboratory information systems.
• Ensure system design supports standardization, integration, and compliance with policies and regulations.
• Share knowledge with team members and develop change communication materials with education team.
• Perform routine maintenance and assist with testing updates and new releases.
