Corewell Health Westland is seeking a part-time Medical Receptionist to support patient appointments, registration, billing and telephony duties in a fast-paced clinic environment. Epic/EHR experience preferred and a customer-focused approach is essential.

The role emphasizes accurate patient data entry, insurance verification, and coordinating with clinical staff to maintain smooth patient flow while upholding HIPAA standards and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills, multi-task oriented, sensitivity to others.
• Ability to prioritize, self-motivated and ability to handle stressful situations.
• Able to accurately manage a great number of details in a fast paced environment while providing excellent customer service according to Corewell standards.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills while supporting patients, families, providers, and colleagues.
• Maintains a welcoming presence and is often the first to speak with patients and families.
• Serves as a professional first point of contact, ensuring interactions are respectful and responsive to age, cultural, and developmental needs.
• Coordinates appointment scheduling and collaborates with providers and clinical offices to support efficient patient flow.
• Provides courteous and efficient telephone support, including answering calls and directing inquiries to appropriate staff.
