Job summary

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, BLS certification within 3 months of hire, and strong communication and confidentiality skills to support a patient-centered care environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification for Healthcare Provider within 3 months of hire.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and understand English and communicate effectively with patients, visitors and colleagues.
• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality of patient information.
• Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and caring aligned with Trinity Health values.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient check-in and ensure admitting process is efficient and compliant with policies.
• Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately.
• Schedule appointments according to office guidelines.
• Obtain accurate patient and insurance information, including copays and deductibles.
• Enter demographics, insurance, and other data into the Electronic Health Record and other systems.
• Handle time-of-service payments and/or past due balances at the time of appointment.
