Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers or obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Must complete Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.
• Read, write and understand English; communicate effectively.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information; uphold Mercy values.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and manage front desk flow.
• Check-in patients and complete admitting steps per policies.
• Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately.
• Schedule appointments per office guidelines.
• Obtain patient/insurance information and collect copays/deductibles.
• Enter demographics and insurance data into the EHR; scan documents.
