Job summary

MercyOne Health System is hiring a part-time Clinic Receptionist to greet patients, manage front desk, and support smooth clinic operations. This role handles check-in, scheduling, insurance verification, and collecting time-of-service payments, using the EMR system to enter demographics and other data.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, BLS certification or within 3 months, and the ability to communicate clearly in English while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patient, visitors, and colleagues.
• Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality when dealing with patient information.
• Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients and visitors at the clinic front desk.
• Check-in patients efficiently and complete all steps necessary to ensure the admitting process is efficient and in compliance with all clinic and regulatory policies.
• Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately.
• Schedule appointments according to office guidelines.
• Obtain accurate patient and insurance information, collecting copays (TOS) and deductible amounts.
• Copy/scan patient access related hardcopy materials (e.g. ID, referrals, insurance cards, etc.) into the correct location in the electronic medical record.
