Job summary

MercyOne Medical Group is seeking a Clinic Receptionist to greet patients and visitors at the front desk, manage appointments, verify insurance, collect copays, and enter data into the electronic health record. The role requires a high school diploma, BLS within 3 months, mandatory abuse reporting training, and strong communication while maintaining confidentiality.

This is a full-time, day-shift position with 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtained within 3 months of hire.
• Proof of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.
• Reading, writing, and understanding English with effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors at the front desk and manages the admitting process.
• Schedules appointments per office guidelines and directs calls appropriately.
• Obtains accurate patient and insurance information and collects copays/deductibles.
• Enters demographics, insurance, and other data into the EHR and related systems.
• Determines and collects time of service payments and/or past due balances at appointment.
