Job summary

The VA has an opening at the Richard L Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis for a Supervisory Advanced Medical Support Assistant (MSA). The role includes leading MSA staff, coordinating patient support services, and ensuring efficient clinic operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualified candidates will demonstrate supervisory experience, strong customer service, and the ability to manage staffing, training, and budgets in a healthcare setting, in line with GS-8 requirements and VA

Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of managing or leading patient support staff in a clinic.
Ability to provide the full range of administrative and supervisory duties to at least one subordinate MSA supervisor or team leader.
Ability to collaborate, communicate, and demonstrate customer service and interpersonal skills with internal and external customers to ensure quality/continuity of care.
Ability to provide briefings, orientations, staff development, and training in a patient support setting.
Ability to manage fiscal matters, forecast resource and equipment needs, and identify budget needs.

Responsibilities

Supervise Advanced Medical Support Assistants and subordinate MSAs to oversee daily workload and staffing.
Assign work, evaluate performance, and participate in staff development and scheduling decisions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care and policy compliance.
Provide briefings and training to staff, manage budgetary needs, and forecast resource requirements.
