Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods in Miami is seeking a Climbing Lead to manage the rock wall program and climb department operations. You will train teammates, supervise sessions, and ensure top-notch customer service while promoting safety standards and product knowledge.

As a leader in the climbing area, you will drive engagement, schedule staff, and deliver engaging instructional experiences for customers of all ages. A climbing certification and retail experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Flexible availability - including nights, weekend, and holidays.
• Prior retail sales experience (or customer-focused experience) preferred.
• Climbing certification required.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years old to comply with labor laws and job-specific requirements.

Responsibilities

• Drive highest level of customer service within the department, aligning with company standards.
• Provide consultative product knowledge and guidance to customers and teammates.
• Instruct climbing techniques for explorers of all ages and experience levels.
• Teach instructional lessons as needed or requested.
• Supervise climb sessions and ensure safety protocols.
• Maintain merchandise presentation and productivity, following floor sets and replenishment processes.
• Assist store management with supervision, opening/closing, and cash office tasks.
• Help with department scheduling, workflow, and status monitoring.
• Communicate initiatives, programs, and promotions to department guides.
• Identify and address safety concerns with rock wall equipment and SOPs.
• Ensure safety and security of teammates, customers, and property per regulations.
• Ensure certifications are current.
• Train associates on procedures and programs; provide timely feedback.
• Manage team-building events at the rock wall with guides.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
