Job summary

Motion Industries is seeking a Customer Service Representative to fulfill customer orders under close supervision. You will handle inquiries, provide quotes, and enter orders across multiple channels, while supporting pricing decisions to optimize gross profit.

The role emphasizes building strong customer relationships, ensuring on-schedule shipments, and coordinating with internal teams to maintain inventory and improve processes.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a high school diploma or GED and 0–3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
• Strong communication skills including written, verbal, and listening.

Responsibilities

• Responds to basic customer inquiries, provides quotes, and handles order entry.
• Places customer orders via telephone, fax, email, electronic methods, or walk-in.
• Negotiates sale/purchase price within parameters to influence gross profit.
• May adjust non-contract pricing to meet customer demands while maximizing profit.
• Builds customer relationships to drive repeat business and drive process improvements.
• Maintains appropriate inventory levels by ordering items as needed.
• May place orders up to $5,000 per line and $10,000 per purchase order.
• Sources products from branch, distribution center, or supplier inventories.
• Determines cost-effective shipping methods for orders.
• Partners with Account Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Expedites backorders and may pull inventory for shipment to customers.
• May handle customer returns.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
