Job summary

Truist in Newport News, VA, seeks a Universal Banker to deliver a distinctive client experience by handling transactions, explaining digital tools, and uncovering financial needs.

You will support sales initiatives, assist with outbound calls, and stay compliant with policies while building relationships with both consumers and small businesses. Weekend availability is required to meet branch needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years teller or cash handling or client service experience
• Six months client relationship building or sales experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to master PC keyboard and software for branch automation
• Ability to multi-task under time constraints
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
• Willingness to travel for temporary staffing needs and occasional extended hours
• Weekend and/or extended hours availability with occasional travel

Responsibilities

• Provide a distinctive client experience by handling transactions and identifying client needs
• Educate clients on digital banking options and self-service channels
• Support sales through outbound calls and identifying opportunities
• Understand and leverage Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) for Truist solutions
• Participate in Retail Community Bank Leadership routines
• Attend training to advance product knowledge
• Adhere to internal controls, procedures and risk management policies
• Serve as secondary contact for new accounts and issue resolution
