Job summary

AXIS Capital in New York, NY is seeking an Account Manager to deliver high-quality service to internal and external clients, supporting underwriting teams and brokers. The AM will focus on service excellence, managing a book of business, and driving retention, profitability, and growth.

Leveraging expertise in Property & Casualty commercial insurance, you will build relationships with underwriters and brokers, ensure accurate policy processing, and contribute to new account marketing and renewal

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Undergraduate degree in business, finance, or related field preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in the commercial insurance industry as an Underwriter Assistant or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of Property and Casualty insurance coverage is necessary.
• Proficient in written and verbal communication, capable of interacting with internal and external partners such as brokers.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar software.
• Strong aptitude for learning new computer/software programs.
• Strong customer service skills and professional attitude.
• Completion of professional development coursework in the industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Policy administration and processing, including binding, issuance, and endorsements.
• Review policy documents for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement within service delivery and underwriting.
• Act as a key contact for brokers and clients, addressing inquiries and updates.
• Cultivate relationships with broker contacts and decision-makers.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Maintain accurate policy and underwriting data with diary systems in place.
