Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with potential to supervise student workers and cross-train within the department. A valid driver's license and tow motor certification are required.
The class works under general supervision and requires working knowledge of clerical systems and procedures in order to perform general clerical tasks involving several variables; incumbents are free to make some work procedural decisions which do not contravene policies.

- Performs basic, repetitive clerical tasks; retrieves, opens, stamps, sorts, distributes, and/or sends mail; counts, alphabetizes, separates, collates, codes, sorts, logs, staples and/or stuffs mail, forms, correspondence, and/or filed information; files correspondence, reports, records, cards, documents, or other materials.
Retrieves files for requested information or materials; makes minor additions, deletions, and adjustments to filed information or other materials; retrieves and distributes materials; addresses mail; makes photocopies; greets visitors, answers telephone, takes messages, and/or refers calls. Loads and unloads vehicles both inbound and outbound; processes all classes of mail and packages; travels off campus to pick up and deliver to carrier locations (Post Office, FedEx, UPS, etc.).
- Acts as a backup through cross-training within department including processing mail/packages, receiving packages and freight from carriers and daily moving projects.
Assists with training new hires, both new teammates and new student workers.
Performs other duties as assigned and/or required that are within the level of responsibility for this classification at the discretion of the supervisor.

High School Diploma or GED and at least two years of experience in general office practices and procedures, public relations, and/or other related experience. Valid driver's license and ability to be compliant with the university’s insurance policy (i.e. insurable as proven through a motor vehicle record review).
At Least 1 year of experience in mail or shipping operations or at least 1 year of office/warehouse experience; tow motor certification.
