Responsibilities

  • Process outgoing institutional mail with carriers, ensuring labeling, postage, and documentation.
  • Assist customers with inquiries regarding mail delivery, lost packages, options and rates.
  • Operate postage meters, mail sorters, barcode scanners, and other mail equipment.
  • Maintain shipment logs, signature receipts, and tracking information for mail.
  • Receive bulk shipments and verify delivery manifests against purchase documentation.
  • Ensure secure handling of confidential materials per regulations.
  • Issue mailbox keys or access credentials and maintain records.
  • Assist with inventory management of mailing supplies.
  • Perform daily mailroom opening and closing procedures, including security checks.
  • Deliver inter-office mail to designated buildings.
  • Support departmental reporting, billing, and adjustments for postage and shipping costs.
  • Other related duties, as assigned.

Essential Job Functions
  • Receives, sorts, and distributes incoming mail and packages tocampus departments and student mailboxes.
  • Processes outgoing institutional mail through appropriatecarriers (e.g., USPS, FedEx, UPS), ensuring proper labeling,postage, and documentation.
  • Assist customers with inquiries regarding mail delivery, lostpackages, shipping options, and rates.
  • Operates postage meters, mail sorters, barcode scanners, andother mail equipment.
  • Maintains shipment logs, signature receipts, and trackinginformation for accountable mail and packages.
  • Receives bulk shipments; verifies delivery manifests againstinstitutional purchase documentation.
  • Ensure secure handling of confidential and restricted materialsin accordance with institutional and postal regulations.
  • Issues student mailbox keys or access credentials; maintainsrecords for mailbox assignments and fees (if applicable).

Qualifications
