Job summary

MIRACORP is seeking a Classification Specialist to provide technical and administrative support for federal position classification activities. The role involves reviewing PDs, performing classifications, and preparing evaluation statements with SME coordination.

Ideal candidates have a US citizenship, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and at least six years of classification experience, plus strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of classification experience.
  • Experience with General Schedule Supervisory, Team Leader, Wage Supervisor/Leader guidance.
  • Knowledge of Factor Evaluation System (FES) and classification standards.

Responsibilities

  • Review and tentatively classify PDs using Classification Standards and guides.
  • Conduct and support job evaluations using FES and applicable policies.
  • Prepare classification statements and advisory evaluations with supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate PDs with SMEs and stakeholders for review and approval.
  • Enter and upload classification documents into systems and prepare workforce profiles.

The Specialist performs position description (PD) reviews, classification analyses, job evaluations, and related advisory services.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesReview, analyze, and tentatively classify position descriptions using applicable Classification Standards and guides, including General Schedule Supervisory, Team Leader, Wage Supervisor, and Wage Leader guidance.Conduct and support job evaluations using Factor Evaluation System (FES) and applicable policies and procedures.Compare PDs with similar positions and classification standards to ensure consistency in title, series, grade, and compensation levels.Prepare classification and advisory evaluation statements, including documentation supporting precedent setting classification decisions.Review, edit, and update existing PDs and assist with developing new or modified position descriptions.Coordinate draft PDs with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and other stakeholders for review and approval.Enter and upload classification documents, data, and supporting information into applicable classification systems.Prepare workforce profiles and other classification related documentation as required.Interpret and apply federal classification policies, regulations, standards, and directives.Provide clear classification guidance and communicate findings and recommendations both orally and in writing.Minimum Education & Experience RequirementsUS CitizenBachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Management, or a related field preferred.Minimum of six (6) years of experience performing position classification support services or similar classification functions.Working knowledge of classification standards, principles, and the Factor Evaluation System (FES).Ability to interpret and apply government policies, regulations, directives, and classification guidance.Strong analytical, research, written communication, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and produce accurate, timely classification documentation.Why Choose MIRACORP?At MIRACORP, we recognize that our employees are the cornerstone of our success.
