Job summary

The Salvation Army Dallas Oak Cliff Corps is seeking a Seasonal Full Time Bell Ringer Program Coordinator to recruit, train and supervise staff and volunteers for kettles across locations in Dallas, TX. You will ensure adequate staffing and maintain accurate records of hours and kettle income.

Responsibilities include interviewing and selecting volunteers, scheduling, communicating with staff, preparing reports, and coordinating special events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience in kettle fundraising or similar program preferred.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience may be accepted.

Recruits, trains, coordinates, and monitors the work of employee and volunteer bell ringers ensuring ample staff to meet location needs; prepares records and reports regarding the same.

Key Responsibilities

• Interviews, recruits, screens and selection of bell ringing staff and volunteers ensuring all sites are covered effectively.
• Plans, schedules, and assigns work of staff and volunteers; instructs in proper methods and procedures; checks and approves work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy and completeness as well as compliance with Salvation Army policies and procedures.
• Maintains contact with staff and volunteers throughout their service; answers questions, concerns or problems; recognizes workers through correspondence by mail, in person or by phone.
• Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and databases for daily kettle income information; prepares reports regarding the status of the kettle program; provides staff and volunteers with documentation of the hours worked.
• Plans, coordinates, and prepares special events; prepares plaques and certificates of recognition; prepares and maintains special event records for future reference.
• Meets with community leaders and organizations and discusses Salvation Army needs.
• Drives Salvation Army vehicle(s) to deliver and collect kettles and supplies to kettle locations and workers.
• Assists with counting, recording and depositing of kettle funds.
