Job summary

Salvation Army in Arlington is seeking a Seasonal Full Time Coordinator to recruit, train, and oversee bell ringing staff and volunteers at multiple kettle locations.

You will prepare records, reports and coordinate events, while maintaining strong volunteer relations and community outreach. A valid driver’s license and HS diploma are required;

this role includes driving duties and compliance with Salvation Army policies, with benefits as applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 1 year experience with kettle fundraising preferred.
• Equivalents in training/experience accepted.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Ability to work with kettles and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Interview, recruit, screen, and select bell ringing staff and volunteers to cover all sites.
• Plan, schedule, and assign work; instruct staff and volunteers; ensure accuracy and policy compliance.
• Maintain contact with staff/volunteers; address questions or issues; recognize workers via mail, in person, or by phone.
• Maintain records for kettles; prepare reports on kettle program status; document hours worked.
• Coordinate special events; prepare plaques and certificates; keep event records.
• Meet with community leaders to discuss Salvation Army needs.
• Operate Salvation Army vehicle to deliver/collect kettles and supplies.
• Assist with counting, recording and depositing kettle funds.

Recruits, trains, coordinates, and monitors the work of employee and volunteer bell ringers ensuring ample staff to meet location needs; prepares records and reports regarding the same.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plans, schedules, and assigns work of staff and volunteers; instructs in proper methods and procedures; checks and approves work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy and completeness as well as compliance with Salvation Army policies and procedures.
• Maintains contact with staff and volunteers throughout their service; answers questions, concerns or problems; recognizes workers through correspondence by mail, in person or by phone.
• Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and databases for daily kettle income information; prepares reports regarding the status of the kettle program; provides staff and volunteers with documentation of the hours worked.
• Plans, coordinates, and prepares special events; prepares plaques and certificates of recognition; prepares and maintains special event records for future reference.
• Meets with community leaders and organizations and discusses Salvation Army needs.
